Best Fun Ever! 101 Kids Activities
I have a fair few craft books lining the craft-nook shelves at this stage, some I like to just gaze at, others I find great for learning new techniques and materials. My absolute go-to book for after school crafts and weekend activity inspiration with Molly for the past month is 101 Kids Activities by Holly Homer and Rachel Miller.
So many of my mommy friends and acquaintances say to me over and over again that they are not crafty or creative and because of this they don’t do anything creative with their kids at home. What I adore about this book is that it was designed with everyday parents in mind – it’s not just crafts, it’s filled with truly easy quick and accessible activities including boredom busters, pranks, games, simple kitchen science experiments and ooodles of other things that will bring colour, fun and plenty giggles to every house after school, on weekends and playdates. From sponges, tin foil, plastic bottles to cardboard boxes and even milk, everything you need to have fun with this book is inside your four walls!
Pipe cleaner disguises – oh what twisty fun!!
Building with straws – what parent doesn’t have a packet of these in the press!
Perfect rainy day fun.
Milk Explosions!!!! definitely next on our to do list xx
As you can see this is not a craft book it’s the ‘bestest funniest’ activity book to keep the kids entertained, engaged and not-so-bored!! haha
Follow the simple step by steps for each activity or use the book to inspire you to use the materials suggested and try something new…. which is what happened here this weekend – we made something with a plastic bottle instead of consigning it to the recycling bin.
What this book has done most for me is inspire me to ‘keep it simple’ – create with the minimum of materials and steps, so that I include more no-muss-no-fuss ideas for everyday fun with kids here on MollyMoo than I currently do perhaps!. Sometimes I get lost in the detail, I recognise that *guilty* :)
>> You can get your copy of 101 Kids Activities on Amazon – I cannot recommend it highly enough.
