Issue 5 of Action Packed, the mini mag for kids who like to do stuff, is out now and explores the theme of chalk & cheese. Action Packed is a great new downloadable magazine with over 20 pages of craft and science projects, recipes and outdoor activities as well as art and printables for kids [&hellip
Getting some variety in Molly’s lunchbox is the one nightmare for me about September as she’s SUCH a picky eater. In her new school they have a fruit break in the morning and a lunch break later on – this is going to be a challenge!! I took inspiration from such of the ideas posted [&hellip
Meet BooBoo – a devoted little friend that arrived to give Molly an extra bit of companionship and reassurance in the lead up to her ‘first day at big school’. BooBoo is a great little listener, never interrupts, content to take a backseat and just be there when she’s needed to zip-up the little whispers [&hellip
if I want it, it’s mine if I give it to you and change my mind later, it’s mine if I can take it away from you, it’s mine if I had it a little while ago, it’s mine if it’s mine it will never belong to anybody else, no matter what if we are [&hellip
The final few days of holiday activity are being spent in the company of Hannah Arnup of Ballymorris Pottery. The little group of campers, all with matching ‘little helper’ aprons, made bunnies and knee pots yesterday and today they tried their hands at papier-mâché. Tomorrow they get a turn on the potter’s wheel…. move over [&hellip
Helen of CurlyBirds has just posted another gorgeous idea for excited yet nervous preschoolers (and junior infant in Molly’s case). A simple little felt heart, filled with mommy’s love and slipped into a pocket as a gentle reminder of calm during the first day of a new school year – how sweet is that!!. I [&hellip
Last year we started a time capsule tradition to mark M’s first day back at school. We’re going to dig it out of ‘the secret press’ in the next two weeks and see how much she has grown and changed in the year, and start a new one for her first day at ‘big school. [&hellip
I put Little Piggys shoe shop advice to the test this evening – and it worked. 30degree wash = good as new :)
The last few days of freedom are being squeezed out of the holidays and the countdown is on for September’s return to routine, uniforms and morning chaos. (Molly is ‘not terribly’ keen on going to big school – she wants to ‘go back to age three and start again’ at montessori). For any house dealing [&hellip
to be continued… I’m sure all M’s little neighbours from Sunshine City were having as much fun with their new playhouses at home today. How great would it be to create a ‘storybook corner’ – a place to record these special little moments. I’m game if you are so just have your camera ready and [&hellip
Every now and then when a certain someone is overtired and grumpy in the car I’ll call on my iphone to provide a little distraction. Horrid Henry’s Dress Up Game has been a firm favourite for a while, always lifts little moods! but alas Henry has been replaced with Toca Hair Salon. In this digital [&hellip
An incredible week of painting, gluing, and more painting came to an end today with an mini-exhibition of playhouses and party for the very happy bunch of ‘creators’. For the past five days an imaginative and determined posse of 5 to 7 year olds have moulded large cardboard boxes into some incredible playhouses, which together [&hellip
I’ve had to take a bit of break from writing for the past week – the ‘skip-like’ feel to the house was become overwhelming!! My first stop was sorting M’s playroom – when she was a baby I ‘gave’ her the dining room so that she was always within sight and sound. Now age 5 [&hellip
