Dedicated Children’s Gallery
Pilot Project for Limerick…..coming soon!
Sharing the artwork and creativity of kids
how do our children see the world?
Some months ago I visited St Patrick’s Girls School, on the Dublin Road, and was blown away by the quality of artwork the kids were creating there week by week….currently the only way this, and the imaginative work of every other school kid in Limerick, can be viewed and appreciated is on school walls, noticeboards and on the fridge door at home.
I there and then decided to create a website dedicated to honouring children’s imaginations – a forum in which the artwork, creativity, joy and innocence of Limerick/Irish children could be showcased. I knocked on a few doors for help, and help I got from Joanne Beirne, the Artistic Director at the Belltable. Joanne immediately saw the potential for this project and together we set about trying to make it happen….and happen it will. Just two weeks ago we got confirmation that our little project was approved for special funding from the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport. Hip Hip ★:*¨¨*:☆~
This website will start as a pilot project for Limerick
The site will host an online gallery, where children themselves, parents, teachers etc. will be able to upload the creative work of kids, in two or three simple steps. This exciting project is the first MollyMoo/Belltable Partnership, and we hope to have the site live to coincide with the re-opening of the renovated Belltable theatre later this month.
An opportunity for our kids to shine
I’ll keep you posted on our progress and hope that schools, teachers, parents and kids will support and enjoy. enquiries to email@example.com
