DIY Batty Witch Party Hats!
Looking for a spooky little Halloween Party craft this season? Well, I have the craft for you! Make your very own Batty Witch Party Hats using simple supplies like an ordinary birthday party hat and some card stock paper! I think this hat would be so much fun to wear for any Halloween party or if you throw your own spooky gathering, the kids could make these hats as a fun craft-activity!
To make your Witch Party Hats you will need just a few simple supplies:
Birthday Party Hats (recycle your old ones if you wish)
Black Acrylic Paint or Spray Paint
White Card Stock Paper
Permanent Black Marker
Googly Eyes
Hot Glue Gun and Hot Glue Sticks
Ribbon
-
Step 1
Begin by painting your party hat. If you are in a hurry, you can use black spray paint. I opted to paint our hats with black acrylic paint. I wanted the hats to have some texture and be able to see some brush strokes on the hat for more of an ‘artsy-look’. If you use acrylic paint, you will certainly need two coats. Allow your hat to dry completely while you make your bats.
Step 2
Lets’s make the bats! You will need two bats per hat. Start by drawing a bat-shape outline with a black sharpie marker on white card stock paper.
Step 3
Next cut-out your bats.
Step 4
Then glue googly eyes onto your little bats. You can also draw a tiny mouth on each bat for added character – fangs, a goofy smile or a frown – your kids can decide!

Step 5
With bats made and the hat dry i’s time to finish up – glue one bat to the bottom of the hat and one near the top.
Step 6
Lastly, you will want to remove the elastic strap on the hat and add some ribbon for a finishing touch. I chose a dark-moon shade of blue for the ribbon colour because I thought this would work well with the Batty-Witch theme. To remove the elastic strap, simply cut it off and hot-glue a strip of ribbon to each side where the elastic was attached.
And voila! your project is complete!
Simply tie the two ribbons together into a bow under the chin and your child is ready to party like a batty witch!
This is such a great activity for home, school, girl guides or play group.
Time to get your crafty pants on!
