Easter Eggimals
With styrofoam eggs we also made these adorable little egg-animals. I had only a restricted range of acrylic paint colours – if only I had some white paint I could have lightened them up. We made a dog, pig and cat but the herd could be expanded infinitely e.g owl, skunk, mouse
Materials we used:
- polystyrene/styrofoam eggs
- acrylic paint
- felt (cut into ears and noses)
- pipe cleaners cut into short lengths for legs
- black marker for eyes, whiskers
I used felt for the ears, tails and nose but you could use coloured paper instead. You could also use pom poms, googly eyes or stickers for the features.
Please ensure to curl the ends of the pipe cleaners so that there are no sharp edges.
Top Tip
To paint the eggs in one go and not get paint all over our hands I inserted a thin lollypop stick into the wide end of the eggs and propped the sticks up in lumps of playdoh on the windowsill to dry. You could keep this craft idea alive during the year by using styrofoam balls instead of eggs.
