Giveaway & Review: Land of Sometimes
About a month ago I bought the Land of Sometimes CD and picture book on Amazon after reading some pretty great reviews on some UK mum’s blogs. I’m not a big fan of the usual (nauseating) kid’s cds- we’ve all had them right!! so I popped this one in the player quite trepidatiously. My cautiousness was totally misplaced because from the first note I was under it’s spell – and you will be too.
The Land of Sometimes is the story of Alfie and Elise, who embark on a magical journey to the silver line that outlines the sea and holds up the sky. Along the way meeting eccentric characters, each with a song and a story to tell. This is storytelling at it’s absolute best.
To say ‘we’ LOVE this CD is an understatement – it’s captivating, mesmerising, entrancing (all the ings). Eavesdropping on Molly singing her favourite songs from memory from every corner of the house is the best thing in the world. I even listen to the CD in the car when I’m on my own – it is simply beautiful.
Our favourite song is by the Willow Tree Choirboy, have a listen to a clip here (he’s the blonde little guy, seventh character on the slider)
From where I am the world is safe
The sun is shining on my face
I’m in the leaves above the sky
With starry eyes
and the winners are…
ShellyPots (aka Shelagh Flannery from Clare) and SugeyPlum (aka Alison Flowers from Wicklow) – congrats girls. My favourite part of hosting giveaways is getting delighted emails from parents and little insights into MollyMoo readers stories – precious.
“I nearly WET myself when I read your email, I’ve never won anything before ever I think. I had another little fairy arrive on the 30th so this will get well used. And If Molly loves it then I’m sure my three will as I believe Molly has great taste!! AlisonF
Sitting at the kitchen table two Sundays ago Molly was inspired to draw the ‘pictures in her head’ when she was listening to the CD – continue on to see the magic that unfolded :)
(sorry but this giveaway is for Irish readers only)
