Growing Pains?

Since M turned four in May she has been suffering alot from growing pains during the night – aching shins mostly. In one month alone her feet have jumped two sizes (LittlePiggys Shoes aren’t complaining!). Lastnight the pain in one ankle was severe enough to wake her and no amount of massaging or snuggling could console her. I finally had to give her a spoon of Nurofen, not knowing for sure if that would help. In the midst of her distress though she still managed to make me smile, she was looking for her daddy so I got him on the phone and he told her that he was ‘on the way‘ – she turned to me in disgust and said ‘only superheros can say that‘ and with that fell back to sleep, with a magic princess plaster across her ankle. Bless :)

A brilliant little tip I just picked up from Mamamedia is to keep the ankles warm at night with bedsocks and use a heatpad when she is in discomfort.
