Kids Get Arty….. again

Also inspired by RedTed’s exploring the great artists with children new initiative, the kids with us for the first summer camp week got to enjoy the works of another of the greats – Mr VanGogh himself. Reading the story Camille & The Sunflowers introduced the group of 5 to 9 year olds to VanGogh, his artistic style and the famous paintings he left behind for us all to enjoy, in a fun, age appropriate and engaging way.

One little girl was quite taken with the idea that he painted sunflowers, hung them in a gallery and sold it ‘for millions’ – simple as that – so she was very eager to paint her own sunflowers and follow in his successful footsteps without delay :)

This project involved free painting on wall mounted craft paper with acrylic paints.
