look what I made mum…

Aren’t these clay figures absolutely gorgeous?
they’re just one of the three projects the kids got to explore and enjoy at saturday’s arts and craft class, with my awesomely talented buddie Shelagh Flannery.
From pre-thrown cup bodies the kids were shown how to attach heads and mold the big nose, nostrils, eyes, eyelids, lips and ears. It was so fantastic to witness all the unique and quirky characters emerge – grumpy, goofy, freaked out and happy of course.

Then the kids decided what ‘things’ their characters might be daydreaming about and added those things to the top of their heads – everything from bats, to teapots, birds, octopus, ladybirds and more teapots took shape. So cute and so darn funny.

[read on] to see photos of the kids making their little group of oddpots – and come back next week to see the finished pieces fired and painted. LOVE LOVE
