On our doorstep – feature #1

All things handmade is a growth industry worldwide, with some real talent shining through…a huge percentage of which, I think it’s safe to say, are women and mums. So for the first two weeks of December I thought I’d give a shout out to the incredible crafters in my local area who’s work I love.

The first is Michelle Jones, aka Sidekiks in Castleconnell, Limerick, who I only discovered about six weeks ago when Molly got one of her little monsters as a present (remember him on the telly?). Graphic designer by day, sockmonster maker by night, Michelle makes these cool novelty dolls from new and unused socks, tights and recycled fabrics. Every little monster created is different from the one before – I want them all :)

monsters deserve our love too…
