Paper flower pinwheel
This paper flower pinwheel will add a touch of spring to any room or whimsy to your garden. Such a simple “no-muss-no-fuss” papercraft it would be perfect for kid-made birthday pressie, a mother’s day keepsake or teacher appreciate gift!
The kids absolutely love playing with pinwheels, and it is always nice to make something that they want to play with afterwards, instead of just having a process based craft!

We usually use recycled paper and card stock from eco-craft.
How to make your paper flower pinwheel
Take one of your pipe cleaners and bend each end towards the centre and twist, to create your leaves.
Take the other pipe cleaner, bend it in half, twisting the two halves together, insert your leaves, part way down and leaving a loop at the top.
Cut out your yellow flower using the template. Glue on shaded area and overlap petals. Fold over the point at the back to make it flatter.
Cut out your orange flower centre using the template. Glue on shaded area and overlap edges. Fold over back slightly to create a boxy back to the centre.
Take your square of green card and cut from each corner on the diagonal leaving space in the middle as indicated on the template.
Fold the points towards the centre and glue.
Glue the yellow flower and orange flower centre on top.
Scrunch the brown paper into the ceramic pot and poke a hole in the centre with a pencil or pair of scissors.
Push the paper fastener through the centre of the 3 card layers and through the loop of the pipe cleaner. Bend the legs of the paper fastener. Arrange your paper flower pinwheel (s).
Add googly eyes and a pipe cleaner bow tie, for a ‘dappy daffy’ paper flower pinwheel
Make a large scale version to use as a decoration!
