Coffee Filter Umbrella Suncatchers by sunnywithachanceofsprinkles
A gorgeous burst of colour and light to catch the sun’s rays through the window, and bring some Mr Sun vibes into the kitchen, playroom or classroom.

Make your own Pet Cloud via Little Gatherer (new blog find)
How stinking cute eh!! a sweet and fluffy pocket companion to carry around on your many adventures. All you need are big fluffy white cotton balls and some googly eyes.

Rain Sticks via Happy Houligans
Create the sound of falling rain with these simple foil covered, cardboard rain sticks. Whilst these simplified sticks may not invoke the rain spirits, like in some cultures, they will be fun to make, and they sound lovely when you up-end them.

Puffy Cloud Paint via itsourlongstory
Made with craft glue and shaving foam – wonderful engaging fun for the littles. Draw on some planes and birdies, and make up a story as you do :)

Framed Rainbow Weaving by TheCraftyKitty
Detailed photo tutorial on how to take recycled textile yarn and create a gorgeous framed rainbow weave.

Rainy Day Splatter Painting via mama.papa.bubba
Instead of letting the rain keep us indoors, why not venture out and enjoy it with a baking sheet, some liquid food colouring (the neon kind), and some white construction paper. Let the rain do it’s job and watch the colours pop up off the page and land back down on the page in little dots. Love it.

Umbrella and Rain Drop Craft via mamajenn
Very attractive paper construction craft – dripping craft glue creates the falling rain drops.

DIY Weather Board Free Printable from Mr Printables
This weather activity is a fun way to encourage kids to observe the weather everyday and learn how to describe it in words. Plenty of fun dials and sliders to use. The site has complete instructions on how to assemble.

Are You Ready to Play Outside? (An Elephant and Piggie Book) by Mo Willems
We are HUGE fans of all things Elephant and Piggie in my house – in this one poor Piggie is frustrated about not being able to enjoy playing outside on a rainy day so Gerald extends an ear to shelter her and soon two ecstatic worms cavorting in the rain inspire them to find happiness in wet-weather play. I LOVE the quickly shifting moods – get ready for the giggles!!

The Cloud Spinner by Michael Catchpool
about a small little boy who has a special gift – he can weave cloth from the clouds: gold in the early morning with the rising sun, white in the afternoon, and crimson in the evening.
