We had an unexpected hoard of toilet roll cores this week because of a nasty headcold virus doing the rounds of the house!!! so Miss Molly and I found a useful new path for the paper tubes by upcycling them to make some potted shamrocks – one for home and one for Molly’s teacher’s desk :)
Inspired by this lovely flower on Krokotak we bent the toilet roll cores in half and stapled the ends together.
I then, armed with the hot glue gun, glued the centres together to make our three leaf shamrocks. -
- And glued a timber skewer into the centre for the shamrock stem -
All you need to do then is paint ‘everything’ green and holding the wet painted shamrock over the waste bin to sprinkle on a little bit of magic green glitter. -
Plant your shamrock in a small pot with styrofoam in the base -
Cover the base in some raffia or shredded paper, stones, beads or whatever you have at hand and leave on the kitchen window or porch to welcome the fairies :) -
