splatter painting
There are only two more classes left in the current term of MollyMoo weekend arts and crafts classes. I haven’t had much chance to photograph the antics for the past weeks as time just flies every saturday and we are always so up to our ears in paint, glue and ink to even think about getting the camera out.
I managed to snap a few of the kid’s splattered dalmatians last Saturday before they took them home – each one truly unique, some even resembling cats :)
The kids favourite part was of course the art of splattering paint, from toothbrush to paper (and the walls a couple of times) !!
-
continue on to see the steps Molly and I practiced at home on the kitchen floor before taking the project to the class…-
dip and splat, a toothbrush works best. you need two sheets per dog. add a little water to the black paint to improve the splatter coverage.
-
when dry, draw the body and ears on the first sheet and the head, eyes and nose on the second sheet
-
Then just cut out the shapes and glue together on a backing page. woof :)
-
TIP for doing this project with a group
Use a large cardboard ‘splatter’ box for the messy bit!!
