Toilet Roll Crafts for Kids – Aeroplane
This cute little cardboard toy came about purely by accident, while tinkering with a toilet roll core and a pair of scissors – the outcome of which is that your CAN make an aeroplane out of a cardboard tube!! who knew!! Now you can of course, being that it is less than two weeks to Christmas, hang these babies off the Christmas tree, but I think they would make for a really colourful and sweet mobile in the nursery or just zooming around the house in the thrill-seeking hands of your little ones.
-
So here’s how to make them
Materials you need to make this toilet roll craft: toilet roll or kitchen paper cores, cardboard, piece of wire, pliers, paint, fast drying glue
-
Step 1: trim the toilet roll into this curved shape
-
and then cut out the cockpit
-
Step 2: flatten out the plane body, cut slits for the wing and tail piece and paint white
-
Step 3: from thicker cardboard cut out the wing, tail pieces and wheels and paint white
-
Step 4: when all are dry slot in the wing and tail, glue the tail piece into position. Make little holes at the front for the wheels, feed the piece of wire through and double over with the pliers at the ends to make the ends rounded and safer and prevent the wheels from coming off.
-
Step 5: and with this wonderful blank canvas sky’s the limit with the wondrous flying creations that you and the kids can create :)
enjoy xx
