doggone it – they did great

Today’s Gandelow Gang classes were a hoot. Led by ceramicist, and fellow kidult, Shelagh Flannery the kids started by teaching HER how to draw a dog, and then they set about making one in clay. Shelagh had pre-thrown the bodies and, for close to an hour, the kids thumped, rolled, prodded, scratched and molded the features. Heads, noses, eyes, legs, tails, ears, eyebrows, and whatever other detail they thought of, was added to their four legged friends. Some got steering wheels on their heads, sticky-upy hair, necklaces and spiky collars, rollerskates, mustaches and eyelashes of course…

These are just some of the photos taken during the 3-5yo group class, who got a little help from the mommies when needed…

woof!! we’re off to the kiln now to bask in the heat for a bit but we’ll be back in two weeks for painting – polka dots and stripes galore.
