take me to your ‘pot of gold’

Using bits and pieces around the house set a trap to tempt the wee one next week. When he grabs the treasure, snap! Down comes the lid. Don’t let him out until he tells you where his pot of gold is!

How to catch a leprechaun
– what you need: a shoe or cereal box, paper or foil to cover it with and anything green and shiny to stick on. Make a ladder, tunnel or doors to make the path more intriguing for him to enter, and harder for him to get out!!

How to make a simple trap:
1 Cover your shoe box in wrapping paper, craft paper, even kitchen foil (leprechauns like bling!)
2 Decorate the box with green and gold glitter, stickers and rainbows
3 The night before St Patrick’s Day set your trap by the front door!!

Bait Tips: green sweets and jellies, skittles, coins

Be warned – these little guys are tricky. We didn’t have any luck last year, the little stinker just left a trail of green ‘luck dust’ on the hallway floor and turned our milk green. (psssst…poster paint is easy to wash off dolls’s feet!!)
